Shoshone Falls, Pendleton, & Portland // Honeymoon Road Trip Pt. 1

After spending a few days in a mountain resort, here in Utah, Steve and I began our honeymoon road trip to the Northwest. The first few days were really just about getting to our destination, but we found ways to make the journey fun, scenic, and enjoyable.

Our first stop along the way was Shoshone Falls and Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho. This was Steve’s first visit and he remarked that the falls are much more impressive and large in person than the photos he’s seen. They really are beautiful, and were the perfect way to kick off our road trip.

The next day, we made our way to Portland, with a stop in Pendleton, Oregon, to visit the Pendelton Woolen Mills shop. Here we picked up a couple of beach towels, a postcard, and sticker. I don’t think I’ve ever loved any beach towel as much as I love the two we found! (You can find them HERE and HERE.) Then we made our way to the Japanese Gardens for the afternoon.

The gardens were stunning, and a wonderful way to unwind after a long two days in the car. We wandered around for an hour or so, enjoying the tranquility and beauty they offer. After the gardens, we drove closer to town to enjoy some tacos and Salt & Straw Ice Cream! We both ended up getting the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor, which of course, was delicious!

At the end of the day, we settled in for a good nights rest (Even though it was my least favorite hotel of the trip.) with anticipation of what was to come!
