Travel has become a priority in my life, and I love when I can help other's plan their own adventures or give advice. One spot I am often asked about is Colorado Springs, and for good reason! It's close and easy to get to, in relation to where most of my family and friends live, it's gorgeous, and its jam packed with adventurous opportunities!

So, since it's one of my most-asked about travel destinations, I decided to share some of my advice with all of you! Here are my top 5 things to do/see in Colorado Springs!

1. Garden of the Gods

This park is easily number 1 on my must-see list. It's free, as it's city-owned and protected, easy to navigate, and full of things to explore. From hiking, to walking, to biking, to climbing. There's something for everyone! Plus, they have a beautiful visitor's center with a gorgeous lookout and informative exhibits.

2. Pike's Peak

Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs happens to be the highest peak in the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America. It stands at a towering 14,115 feet above sea level, so be sure to take things slow! You can hike, drive, or bike up to the top, then take in the view that spans for miles.

3. Manitou Cliff Dwellings

These Anasazi cliff dwellings date back 800-1000 years old. They've been well preserved, protected, and are open to visitors. The Manitou Cliff Dwellings are the perfect way to step back in time, and learn about the original history and people who lived in Colorado Springs.

4. Lake Life

One of my favorite sights to see, anywhere I travel, is a mountain lake. There's just something about a beautiful body of water next to some rugged peaks that gets me. And Colorado Springs has no shortage of lake options and activities! Paddle board, kayak, canoe, or simply enjoy a picnic on the banks.

5. Local Living

After a day exploring the great outdoors, I love to unwind with a nice dinner and some shopping! Colorado Springs has so many beautiful options for tourists to enjoy, there really is something for everyone! Enjoy fresh, locally made food and cap off your evening by browsing through some local shops.
