Curated Living Room Makeover: Cozy Antique Design with Two Pages Curtains
There’s nothing I love more than creating a space that feels both lived-in and intentional—rooms that welcome you in, tell a story, and honor pieces with history. For this living room makeover, my vision was to blend antique character with cozy warmth, all while curating a space that feels timeless and deeply personal. The result is a layered mix of secondhand treasures, family-made pieces, and the most beautiful finishing touches from Two Pages Curtains.
The Curtains That Inspired the Room
The transformation really started with my window treatments. I partnered with Two Pages Curtains to bring softness, texture, and structure to the space, and the effect has been nothing short of transformative. I chose the Stefana Silber Print Linen Blend Curtain Drapery Pleated panels in the color way Double Windowpane Sepia DW48. The subtle windowpane pattern feels classic and timeless, and the sepia tones pair beautifully with the antique elements throughout the room.
I love how these curtains frame the windows with elegant French pleats that add sophistication without feeling fussy. They let in just the right amount of light while also offering privacy when paired with the Natural Ramie Bamboo Woven Shades in Coconut. The layered look adds depth to the room, giving the windows a finished, intentional feel that ties the entire design together.
A Coffee Table with Heart
At the center of the room is one of my most meaningful pieces: our coffee table. Steve made it by hand, using hardwoods from a local wood shop. The organic form was inspired by primitive benches, giving it a natural and imperfect beauty that balances the refined curtains and antique accents. It’s a piece that not only grounds the room but also carries a story of craftsmanship and love.
Anchored by Vintage
The rug is a vintage Graven Heriz from the 1920s, and it instantly adds soul to the space. The worn patina, the rich colors, and the timeworn details bring depth that only a century-old textile can. It’s one of those forever pieces that feels like it has always belonged here.
Our console table, another vintage find, dates back to the mid-1900s. We had it fully restored to honor its solid walnut construction, complete with the original hardware and even the original key. Pieces like this remind me why I always encourage shopping vintage—they carry history, quality, and longevity that new mass-market items rarely offer.
A Philosophy of Slow Decorating
Beyond these statement pieces, the room is layered with treasures sourced from small businesses and Facebook Marketplace. I believe that a home should be filled with items that reflect your style, values, and story—and for me, that means investing in high-quality, secondhand, and handmade items whenever possible.
The Finished Space
What I love most about this living room makeover is how every element feels connected. From the warmth of the Two Pages Curtains to the century-old rug and the handmade coffee table, the room celebrates craftsmanship, quality, and history. It’s cozy, antique-inspired, and intentionally curated—the kind of space that feels lived in yet elevated.
If you’re dreaming of refreshing your own home, I cannot recommend the Custom Window Treatments from Two Pages Curtains enough. They truly completed the vision for this room and brought everything into harmony.
