Vermont Waterfalls // New England Pt. 5

Read Pt. 1 // Pt. 2 // Pt. 3 // Pt. 4

Our first full day in Vermont involved waterfalls, canyon drives, and an Autumn party with our Airbnb hosts and their friends. We started things off by hiking to Moss Glen Falls, near Stowe, Vermont. It’s a short and easy hike, that almost anyone could do. The trail follows a beautiful river, and the banks are lined with signs of wildlife. We spotted many trees that the beavers had been working on, and I even made friends with a dragonfly that perched on my hat, until it was time to leave.

After lunch, we drove up to Smugglers Notch and hiked down to Bingham Falls. This is also an easy hike, that almost anyone could accomplish. The riverbed and small, yet powerful, waterfall were stunning, and one of my favorite sites we visited in Vermont. The trees were showing off their Autumn shades, and the road was lined with large boulders, perfect for climbing (just make sure you can get back down…) I wished I could have spent more time exploring this picturesque New England area, but the sun set all too quickly, and it was time to head back to our Airbnb.

Once we arrived back at our home away from home, it was time to mingle, eat, and carve pumpkins! The hosts of the Stickney Farms Lost Nation Airbnb host an Autumn party, every year, with their friends; and this year, we were able to join in. The food was amazing, the roaring fire was welcoming, as was the company, and we even got to tour their maple syrup production process. The rest of the evening was spent inside, swapping photos, eating homemade bread, and enjoying each other’s company.
